Dr. Genet Zewide former Minister of Education, Ethiopia joins us
IPE Africa | News | September 30, 2016 IST
In the recent months, Dr. Genet Zewide former Minister of Education, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) and former Ambassador of FDRE to India visited IPE Global’s office in Ethiopia and we informed her about our operations in Africa and other countries. Dr. Genet is one of the icons of women empowerment in Ethiopia. During her tenure as Honourable Ambassador she not only further fostered cultural, educational and trade relations between India and Ethiopia but has also diligently reinforced women empowerment Programmes.
Besides other projects, her role in supporting ‘Ethiopia: Kudumbashree – State Poverty Eradication Mission of Kerala under DFID funded Design and Management of Knowledge Partnership Programme (KPP)’, requires special mention. The Programme builds robust evidence from India and finds ways to utilise the identified models and evidence to improve development programming in other low-income countries to empower women economically and socially. A well-read, well-travelled champion of women cause, she has a comprehensive understanding of issues impeding growth of adolescent girls and women in developing countries in Asia and Africa. She has deep understanding of Ethiopian Constitution and visions of the Government related to gender mainstreaming.
We are also pleased to welcome her as a Board of Director in IPE Global Limited.
