Ethiopia Safe Space Programme: Implementing Agency Orientation Workshop

Our Ethiopia team recently participated in the ESSP Orientation Workshop held from 18-22 July, 2016 in Addis Ababa. The participants included Natalia Au, Director, Girl Networks, Girl Effect London, Nebyu Mehary, Manager, Girl Specialists, Girl Effect Ethiopia amongst other key staff from Pathfinder & IPE Global (Ethiopia). The objectives were mainly to enable project stakeholders (IPE Global /Pathfinder, GEE and MoH) to have a shared understanding of the scope and scale of the Ethiopia safe space programme; to refine SSP operating model, community engagement strategy and girl centered programming approaches; and agree on operational issues for the safe space programme pilot implementation (selection of districts, girl and mentor selection, project resourcing, risk management strategies, etc.).
The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development signed the contract for the commencement of the development of an IGAD Regional Infrastructure Master Plan (IRIMP) with consulting firms IPE Global Limited and AFRICN Universal Consulting in Nairobi.
